Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is a metal-containing enzyme which catalyzes the dismutation reaction of O-2 in order to abate or clear the effect of O-2 . The paper mainly discusses the varieties of SOD and their applications in the sectors of pharmacy, foodstuff, agriculture and cosmetic.
